20th November 2024, Serdang - As a field of appreciation for UPM Citizens who are committed to carrying out quality culture and service innovation activities throughout the assessment period for the year 2023/2024, UPM for the ninth time has successfully organized the UPM Service Quality and Innovation Day Celebration (HKIP) of the Year 2023/2024 on November 20, 2024 at the Great Hall, Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Culture and Arts Center (PKKSSAAS), UPM. The theme raised for this celebration is "Promoting Quality Innovation".

The culture of quality and innovation is consistently able to develop high-performing, agile and proactive staff in the face of global change. In fact, this approach can not only increase customer satisfaction significantly, but also strengthen trust and loyalty towards the organization on a consistent, long-term basis.

Innovation Day is celebrated to mark the importance of a culture of creativity and innovation and to celebrate the success of innovation in Government agencies. UPM has welcomed the government's recommendations and supported the government's transformation by implementing the HKIP Celebration at the UPM level starting in 2013, when the proposal for this celebration was approved by the JPU through the JPU Meeting No. 472/12 on 30 January 2013. The implementation of this HKIP is also part of the innovation improvement activities that can contribute to the achievement of Goal 5 of the UPM Strategic Plan 2021-2025. The HKIP program can foster a creative and innovative culture, especially among non-academic officers to solve work-related problems to improve the quality of service delivery to customers. This is in line with the words of the Vice Chancellor, UPM in True North's goal and aspiration to "Provide Services Beyond Expectations" which is always firmly established to continue to be applied as a work culture. Governance at UPM is a determinant of the quality of work and the achievement of desired results to ensure that UPM continues to excel and be respected around the world. The UPM HKIP Celebration has been held 8 times from 2013 to 2022 (no organization in 2020 and 2021 due to the Covid-19 pandemic). The organization of the UPM HKIP Celebration from the year 2023/2024 is implemented biennially (once every 2 years) as per the decision of the University Management Committee Meeting (Minute 873.06(l)(1) on 31 May 2023.
