Recertification Audit UPM for QMS and ISMS by SIRIM 2024

6th Disember 2024, Serdang – Universiti Putra Malaysia has carried out a Recertification Audit for the Quality Management System (QMS) MS ISO 9001:2015 and Information Security Management System (ISMS) MS ISO/IEC 27001:2013 by SIRIM QAS International Sdn. Bhd. This audit aims to assess UPM's continued compliance with the requirements of the standards set by the certification body. The audit, which held for 8 days from 14th to 23rd October 2024, involved 35 PTJs as a QMS audit sample and 17 PTJs as an ISMS audit sample. A total of 11 QMS auditors led by Puan Nur Hana Roshida Hairudin and 2 ISMS auditors led by Puan Noor Kamasahliza Md Sahair@Shahir, who also acted as the Overall Team Leader, audited in this session. The Audit Closing Meeting was held at the Dewan Senat, Bangunan Canselori Putra and was chaired by the Vice Chancellor of UPM, YBhg. Dato' Prof. Dr. Ahmad Farhan Mohd Sadullah. This meeting was also attended by Management Representatives, Members of the University Management Committee as well as representatives of the Responsibility Center (PTJ). Representatives of PTJ Campus Bintulu and the International Institute of Aquaculture and Aquatic Sciences (i-AQUAS), Port Dickson were also present online. Overall, the audit team was satisfied with the implementation of QMS and ISMS at UPM and recommended that the certification to be continued without amendments for the ISO/IEC 27001:2013 ISMS certification while the ISO 9001:2015 QMS certification to be continued with amendments, namely the addition of Hospital Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah (HSAAS). The commitment from the Management and all UPM staff towards the implementation of QMS and ISMS is a major strength in ensuring that UPM’s objectives and KPIs are achieved.
