12th July 2024, Serdang - Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) underwent a presentation session on the pilot study Accreditation of Learning Based on Prior Experience for the Purpose of Awarding Credit (APEL.C) held by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) on 12th July 2024 online through the Zoom platform . This presentation session was held for the purpose of MQA evaluating UPM's readiness to become an APEL.C Assessment Centre. The evaluation was carried out by three by the Evaluation Panel appointed by MQA consisting of Prof. Associate Dr. Kamarul Arifin Abd Jalil, Uitm Shah Alam (Panel Chairman), Prof. Dr. Normah Mustaffa, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (Evaluator Panel Member) and Puan Azlini Che Hassan from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (Evaluator Panel Member). APEL.C's pilot study has involved the Change and Organizational Development course from the Human Resource Development Master's program (Faculty of Educational Studies) and the Public Speaking course from the Bachelor of Communication with Honors program (Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication). The presentation was delivered by Encik Salahuddin Ahmad bin Ayob, Head of the Institutional Audit Section from the Centre for Quality Assurance (CQA). The presentation session was also attended by the APEL.C Unit from the Admissions Division and the Academic Administration Division (BAKD) and the School of Graduate Studies (SPS), Deputy Deans, Department Heads/Moderators, Advisors and Assessors from FPP and FBMK as well as other entities that are also involved in A Pilot Study of APPEL.C. namely Academic Leadership Development and Excellence (CADe-Lead), Information and Communication Development Center (iDEC) and CQA Associate Fellow. It is hoped that UPM will be successful in its application to become an APEL.C Assessment Centre in 2024 as a result of the synergy shown by all entities involved in the APEL.C Pilot Study.
