To Be a Food Reviewer, You Need to Have Knowledge of Nutrition

  

Content creators who focus on food reviews need to have knowledge to prevent them from being entangled with diseases including obesity.This advice was voiced by the Director, Center for Quality Assurance, Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Prof. Dr. Amin Ismail who said that a career as a food reviewer is not only about introducing food, but also being able to influence people to try the food.

"This career is very good because there are many interesting and unique foods in Malaysia to be introduced to the public. However, they should have at least basic knowledge about unhealthy eating that is high in fat, sugar and salt in addition to encouraging healthy eating such as high fiber , excessive intake of fruits and vegetables. They can comment on the healthy menu. Information about it can be obtained from the Ministry of Health or the Malaysian Nutrition Association or at the Department of Nutrition, Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UPM ," he said.

According to him, knowledge about healthy eating can give awareness to food reviewers to be more careful when 'working'. "If not controlled, it will affect health leading to weight gain, high sugar and fat content in the blood which exposes to obesity, diabetes and heart disease," he explained.

Meanwhile, Nutrition Dietetics Officer from Al-Sultan Abdullah Hospital Mara University of Technology,  Farah Farhanah Hashim suggested that the food should be shared to avoid eating excessively. audience," he said. It is clear that food reviewers have a big role in increasing the level of health awareness of the Malaysian community." A study in Saudi Arabia proved that food reviewers have a strong influence of up to 10 times on their social media followers. However, in Malaysia, it may be multiplied with our food choices. "My advice is to review healthy, balanced food and educate the public to choose healthy food, have enough fiber and encourage drinking plain water," he said.
