Objective |
|
i. | Providing formal recognition to PTJ that has demonstrated innovation results; |
ii. | Promote smart sharing of best practices that produce innovation; |
iii. | Fostering and enlivening a creative and innovative culture in the way of work to be practiced at PTJ; |
vi. | Identify and introduce innovation results that can be emulated for other PTJ benefits; and |
v. | Contribute to improving the quality of service delivery to customers. |
Implementation Method |
|
Entries for the Service Innovation Award must be the result of ideas initiated by PTJ workers/groups of workers at UPM. The resulting innovation should provide clear benefits in terms of solving problems, improving the quality and productivity of an organization. | |
Innovations that are not eligible to accompany this award are: |
|
i. | Innovation resulting from research and development (R&D) that is not related to improving the quality and productivity of the organization; |
ii. | Innovation for commercial purposesl; |
iii. | Innovations that have not been used/applied in the year assessed; |
vi. | Innovations that are no longer in use/applied in the year assessed; and |
v. | Innovations accompanying any of the other award categories for the current year. |

Project Synopsis |
The theme of this innovation project is Transparency and Accountability: Revolutionizing Incident Reporting (IR) in Hospital Abdul Aziz Shah (HSAAS) UPM. It is an addition to the existing Incident Reporting (IR) module which is carried out manually to a more comprehensive electronic system for reporting patient safety incidents that applies in HSAAS UPM. Provide opportunities for learning and improvement from thoroughly reported incidents. |

Impact of Implementation |
i. | All HSAAS staff may continue to view current patient safety activities. (Tracking System) | |
ii. | Reports can continue to be generated, progress of cases can be identified, data can be continuously shared with all HSAAS staff. | ||
iii. | Report processing is safer and easier. No more losing manual reports. Revising or correcting reports is easier - information and data are accurate. | ||
iv. | Improved reporting will take effect with the existence of the system. | ||
v. | The graduation and investigation process takes place quickly with the system in place. | ||
vi. | Manual forms can be eliminated with the system. | ||
vii. | Report processing is safer and easier. No more losing manual reports. | ||
ix. | Revising or correcting reports is easier. Every report and action submitted may be accessed by the reporter and parties involved or interested in it transparently. | ||
x. | Each party involved in reporting incidents has clear and regular duties and responsibilities. |
